Frederick Carles Merry

Frederick Carles Merry, AIA, (June 16, 1837 – March 4, 1900) was an American architect active in late-nineteenth-century New York City.

Merry was born in Edgbaston, near Birmingham in England, and emigrated to the United States when he was ten years old.

His increasingly significant position in the Post office is reflected in the fact that he received a cut of the profits in 1873.

In 1877 he travelled to Canada to assist with designs for reconstruction after the disastrous 1877 Great Fire of Saint John, New Brunswick.
