Frederick Robert St John

Sir Frederick Robert St John KCMG (2 March 1831 – 27 February 1923)[1] was a British diplomat.

[3] In 1855, St John entered the diplomatic service[4] and was sent as attaché to Florence and then to Stuttgart.

[10] Just before the end of the year, he was transferred as Minister Resident to the Republic of Venezuela, an office he held until 1888.

[13] In the following year, he was appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Swiss Confederation.

[16] On 18 April 1882, he married Isabella Annie FitzMaurice, second daughter of Captain Hon.
