Fresens

Fresens is a former municipality in the district of Boudry in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

[3] Fresens is first mentioned in 1265 as Hiremanz dit de Fressen.

[4] Fresens has an area, as of 2009[update], of 1.6 square kilometers (0.62 sq mi).

Of the rest of the land, 0.15 km2 (37 acres) or 9.5% is settled (buildings or roads).

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Per fess Gules and Argent, a Rose counterchanged.

[9] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (206 or 94.5%) as their first language, German is the second most common (8 or 3.7%) and Italian is the third (1 or 0.5%).

In the federal election, a total of 104 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 65.8%.

[9] There were 94 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 37.2% of the workforce.

[9] From the 2000 census[update], 8 or 3.7% were Roman Catholic, while 99 or 45.4% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.

During the 2010-11 school year, there was one kindergarten class with a total of 23 students between the municipalities.
