Fricourt

Fricourt (French pronunciation: [fʁikuʁ]) is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France.

Fricourt is situated on the D147 and D64 junction, some 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Amiens.

Fricourt is also one of the sites where large mines were exploded on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
