[1] On 19 July 2010 a launch event was held at the British House of Commons, hosted by the Henry Jackson Society and Robert Halfon MP.
The delegation included former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar, former US Ambassador to the United Nations John R. Bolton, financier Robert Agostinelli, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Lord David Trimble.
[5] The declared purpose of the initiative is to "seek to counter the attempts to delegitimize the State of Israel and its right to live in peace within safe and defensible borders".
[6] According to ABC News, the initiative is founded on the conviction that "The campaign against Israel corrodes the international system from within, beginning with the United Nations.
"[7] José María Aznar states that FOII is non-Jewish in nature and not linked to the Israeli government, and only non-Jews can become a members of the board.
