His photographs are part of collections at The Bancroft Library of the University of California, Berkeley, the Oakland Museum of California, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park[4] and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

He photographed the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

[5] He photographed the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge.
