Gabriel Noradunkyan was born in the Selamsız neighborhood of the Üsküdar district of Constantinople on 6 November 1852.
[2][3] Having received his elementary education at home,[2] Gabriel Noradunkyan attended the local St. Joseph's French High School in the Kadıköy district where he graduated from in 1869.
[6][2] In 1877, he served as a negotiator within the commissions established by the Ottoman and Russian governments during and after the Russo-Turkish War (1877–78).
Meanwhile, in December of that year, he was elected as a member of the newly formed Senate of the Ottoman Empire.
After the Treaty of Lausanne was signed, he moved to Paris, France where he was the head of a variety of Armenian aid organizations.
