Galen R. Hitt (August 16, 1843 – March 11, 1897) was an American lawyer and politician from New York.
In 1859 he entered Troy Conference Academy in Poultney, attending the school for the next four years.
He worked as a prominent criminal lawyer in the state, serving as a defense for Bat Shea in the murder of Robert Ross.
In 1874, he helped organize Albany's Boatman's Relief Association, serving as a director and its attorney.
