Galusha Anderson

Galusha Anderson (March 7, 1832 – July 20, 1918) was an American theologian and university president.

[1] At a young age he converted to the Baptist faith and was determined to become a minister.

[1] His ministry began as pastor of the Baptist Church in Janesville, Wisconsin.

His account of the Civil War in St. Louis, The Story of a Border City during the Civil War, is considered accurate, vivid, and balanced, even though Anderson was an ardent abolitionist and supporter of the Union.

His writings include: He died at his son's home in Wenham, Massachusetts on July 20, 1918.
