[4] Starting in 1928,[5] the paper was edited by Lew Guild, who threw his support into the fight for incorporation of Gardena.
In 1946, the paper was purchased from Lew Guild by Amos Dow, a former Nevada publisher.
[8] Dow died shortly after the purchase, passing the paper on to his wife Agnes.
[9] When Agnes Dow retired in 1957, she passed the paper to her brother, Don Algie.
The newspaper's headquarters was originally located on Western Ave, a few yards south of Gardena Blvd / 164th Street.
