Advancement of character in Gekkeiju Online was made by gaining experience points by either solving quests or by killing monsters.

Criminal players dropped their whole inventory on ground and were teleported into jail when killed.

The jail time depended on the number of players killed in a guarded map.

The only way to remove the murderer flag was to gain experience points by killing monsters.
