Gene Corrigan

He served as the head men's lacrosse coach at Washington and Lee University from 1956 to 1958 and at the University of Virginia from 1959 to 1967, compiling a career college lacrosse record of 67–64.

He served as the commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) from 1987 to 1995 and president of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 1995 to 1997.

[4] Corrigan graduated in 1946 from Loyola High School in Baltimore.

Women's Basketball Hall of Fame coach Debbie Ryan was his niece.

[6] Corrigan died on January 25, 2020, at the age of 91 in Charlottesville, Virginia.
