George Henry "Tank" Carr (September 2, 1894 – January 14, 1948) was an American first baseman and outfielder with the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro baseball leagues from 1920 to 1922.
The next year, Carr played with and against some of those same players, plus José Méndez, "Gentleman" Dave Malarcher, and Andy Cooper.
He continued to play Winter Baseball with the Los Angeles White Sox and Captained the team in 1921.
[5] During his first three years with the Kansas City Monarchs, Carr was among the top ten hitters.
[6] A few years after his death, Carr received votes listing him on the 1952 Pittsburgh Courier player-voted poll of the Negro leagues' best players ever.
