George Dewar (Canadian politician)

Lloyd George Dewar, CM OPEI (October 20, 1915 – November 19, 2003)[1] was a Canadian physician and politician.

Born in New Perth, Prince Edward Island, the son of John A. Dewar and Laura MacPhee, he studied at Prince of Wales College and graduated with an M.D.

During World War II, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps.

Dewar was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island as a PC candidate representing district of 2nd Prince in the 1955 elections, going on to represent the riding for 21 years.

He is buried at the Brudenell Protestant Cemetery in Prince Edward Island.
