George Lansell

Sir George Victor Lansell CMG VD (3 October 1883 – 9 January 1959) was an English-born Australian politician.

He was born in London to mining entrepreneur George Lansell and Harriet Edith Bassford.

He was educated in Bendigo and at Melbourne Grammar School, and in 1906 inherited his father's estate of £6 million.

During World War I he served in the AIF with the 38th Battalion, becoming a captain but being wounded on the Western Front.

In 1928 he had won election to the Victorian Legislative Council as a Nationalist member for Bendigo Province.
