George Lewis (politician)

George Lewis was an American politician who served as the ninth and final mayor[2] of Roxbury, Massachusetts, from 1863 to 1867.

He defeated his opponent S. U. Williams by about 300 votes.

[5] Pursuant to Roxbury city charter,[6] Lewis was sworn into office on the first Monday of the new year, January 5, 1863.

Lewis was mayor until the City of Roxbury was formerly annexed by the City of Boston on January 5, 1867.
