George Sandford (British politician)

George Montagu Warren Sandford JP DL (born Peacocke; 1821 – 17 June 1879) was a British Conservative Party politician.

[1] Sandford was the eldest son of George Peacocke, of Dawlish, Devon, and his second wife, Jemima Durnford (by his 2nd wife, Jemima, daughter of Andrew Montagu Isaacson Durnford.

[3] Sandford won a by-election at Maldon in August 1854 where the 1852 election had also been declared void.

He was re-elected in 1874, and held the seat until he resigned from the House of Commons on 5 December 1878 by becoming Steward of the Manor of Northstead.
