Geothermal areas in New Zealand

Located in a geologically active region, New Zealand has numerous geothermal features, including volcanoes, hot springs, geysers and volcanic lakes.

Many of these features cluster together geographically, notably throughout the central North Island's Taupō Volcanic Zone.
