Gerald Davis (American artist)

Gerald Davis (born 1974) is an artist based in Los Angeles.

His early autobiographical[1] paintings and drawings are rendered in oil paint and pencil, using muted, almost monochrome, colours,[2] dealing with sexuality, desire and his memories of childhood trauma.

[3] Later imagery includes scenes from his personal history as well as an exploration of universal archetypes, in "eccentric renditions of classical subjects.

"[4] He received his BFA from the Pennsylvania State University in 1997 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999.
