McNamee began moonlighting as an actor while continuing his duties as curator, spokesman, and director.
McNamee maintains a close relationship with his parents, Gerard Sr and Helen, his sisters, Eileen and Mary Clare, and their children, Ruadhan, Noah, and Emilia.
