Gheorghe Doja, Mureș

Gheorghe Doja (Hungarian: Lukafalva, Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈlukɒfɒlvɒ]) is a commune in Mureș County, Transylvania, Romania composed of five villages: Gheorghe Doja, Ilieni (Lukailencfalva), Leordeni (Lőrincfalva), Satu Nou (Teremiújfalu), and Tirimia (Nagyteremi).

During its history, there were several military raids carried out against the village which also sustained a lot from flooding.

By the terms of the Treaty of Trianon of 1920, the village became part of the Kingdom of Romania, under the name Luca.

Administered by the Soviet authorities after November 1944, the village, together with the rest of Northern Transylvania, came under Romanian administration in March 1945.

In 1952, it was named after György Dózsa, who led a peasants' revolt against landed nobility at the beginning of the 16th century.
