Ginter Gawlik

[1] Gawlik, who was not raised in Poland (until 1945, Zabrze, then called Hindenburg, belonged to Germany), started his career in the mid-1940s for the German team Reichsbahn SV Borsigwerk.

While playing for Górnik, the team won 5 Polish football championships in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

His debut took place on 23 June 1957 in Chorzów, when Poland beat the Soviet Union 2–1.
