Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

In December 2023, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland designated Glenwood Caverns and Iron Mountain Hot Springs a National Natural Landmark.

In the same year, a tunnel was blasted out to Glenwood Canyon with an observation deck that was named Exclamation Point.

The centerpiece was a pulse gondola that was built by Poma, as well as a visitor center located at the top of the mountain that included a restaurant.

A tramway, which would allow year-round access to the caverns, a large sluice box, and a gift shop were constructed.

Major additions included North America's first alpine coaster, a zip ride, a swing style attraction, and a climbing wall.

These included a Zierer kiddie coaster and an SBF-Visa Ferris wheel, both relocated from Wild Zone Adventures in Canada.

The major addition was the Cliffhanger roller coaster, relocated from the closed Celebration City in Branson, Missouri.

[8] Early 2017 brought an official announcement of the next new ride, the Haunted Mine Drop (Now the Crystal Tower), which opened in the summer of that year.

Jam Crack, just 8.5 in (22 cm) wide at its narrowest point, is the only known natural passage between the upper and lower parts of the cave.

This tour focuses more on formations and cave geology, as guests descend 127 stairs to the bottom of The Barn, at the entrance to Kings Row.

[14] Wild Cave Tours are by reservation only at specific times during peak hours and by appointment only during off-peak, depending on guide availability.

These are not walking tours; guests participate in an actual caving experience that requires strenuous activity, including climbing and crawling, sometimes for extended periods.

[15] On the evening of September 5, 2021, 6-year-old Wongel Estifanos died on the Haunted Mine Drop ride after being separated from her seat and falling 110 ft (34 m) to her death.

The official report by the Colorado Division of Oil and Public Safety blamed a lack of procedures and inadequate training of two ride operators to ensure that Estifanos was properly buckled in.

[23] On October 28, 2023, prior to the park opening for the day, a 20-year-old Colorado man identified as Diego Barajas Medina was discovered dead from an apparent suicide.

Medina was wearing tactical gear and was heavily armed with IED explosives and two privately made firearms (a semi-automatic rifle and a handgun) which led Garfield County Sheriff's Office officials to state it would have been possible for him to commit a devastating mass attack on the community and first responders.

However, a note allegedly written by Medina was found on the wall of a women's bathroom stall inside the park near his body that read, "I am not a killer.
