Gloria Lubkin

Gloria Lubkin (née Becker; May 16, 1933 – January 26, 2020) was an American science journalist and editor for the magazine Physics Today, of which she was the editor-in-chief from 1985 to 1994.

She prepared special issues of the magazine dedicated to Physics in Japan,[5] Richard Feynman,[6] and Andrei Sakharov,[7] as well as for its 50th anniversary.

Lubkin was one of the first American science journalists to travel to the Soviet Union (in 1968)[10] and to the People's Republic of China (in 1979).

[11] In China she toured laboratories in Shanghai and Beijing, and attended a televised meeting of physicists in the Great Hall of the People.

[13] In 2013, she was awarded the title of visiting senior research scholar at the University of Maryland Department of Physics.
