Godfrey is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Morgan County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.
[3] The community was named after Dr. Ervine Godfrey, a pioneer settler.
[5] A post office called Godfrey was established in 1889, and remained in operation until 1965.
[6] The Georgia General Assembly incorporated the place as the "Town of Godfrey" in 1906.
