Prior to that, he was senior directing staff - SDS (Navy) at the National Defence College.

[2] Prior to that, he was chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).

[3] He received naval training from the Royal Malaysian Navy.

Later, in his career he served as flag-lieutenant of Navy Chief as staff officer, deputy-director at the planning department of Bangladesh Navy Headquarters, chief staff officer of Commander Chattogram Naval Zone and Commander BN Fleet Staff Officer Operation.

[7] In personal life, Rear Admiral Sadeq is married and father of one son and a daughter.
