Goswin van der Weyden

[2] He was born in Brussels and was the grandson of Rogier van der Weyden.

He probably trained in the workshop of his father Pieter who was a son of Rogier van Weyden.

He became a poorter (citizen) of Antwerp in the year 1499-1500 under the name ‘Goessen vand[er] Weyden'.

[2] He lived for a long time in the Huidevettersstraat in Antwerp a property of the Abbey of Tongerlo.

[1] His best documented works are the Triptych of Antonius Tsgrooten (1507, Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen), The Life of Saint Dymphna (1505, The Phoebus Foundation), both painted for the Abbey of Tongerlo, and The Gift of Kalmthout (1513, Gemäldegalerie, Berlin) painted for the same abbey in 1513.
