The Gran Premio Gran Criterium (previously known as the Gran Premio Stud Book Argentino) is a Group 1 thoroughbred horse race run at Hipódromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aires, Argentina, open to two-year-old colts.
It is run over a distance of 1600 metres (0.99 mi) on the turf.
It was inaugurated as a Group 1 race, a designation which it has retained.
[1] The Gran Premio Gran Criterium was originally open to fillies, but in 2013 was restricted to colts only.
[2] In 1997 and 1998, the Gran Premio Gran Criterium was run in early July, after the universal birth date in the southern hemisphere, and was thus restricted to three-year-olds rather than two-year-olds.
