Granville railway station

Granville railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main Suburban line, serving the suburb of Granville, New South Wales, Australia.

Granville station opened on 2 July 1860 as Parramatta Junction, and is close to the original terminus of the first railway line in New South Wales which was completed in 1855.

As part of the quadruplication of the Main Suburban line from Lidcombe, the station was rebuilt in the 1950s.

[4][5] On 18 January 1977, the Granville railway disaster, Australia's worst rail disaster, occurred resulting in the death of 84 people, approximately 200 metres (656 ft) west of the station.

Transit Systems NSW operates three bus routes via Granville railway station, under contract to Transport for NSW: Granville station is served by one NightRide route:[11]
