Guiding in Greece started in 1932 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1933.
[1] The first Guide units were established in 1932, and in 1933, SEO became an associate member of WAGGGS.
During World War II the movement fell inactive, but it was revived in 1945.
The 1990s saw a general overhaul of the organization's program: the organization opened for boys[citation needed] and a new branch for pre-school-age children was introduced – the Asteria (Stars).
