Green Hills, Nashville, Tennessee

Residential development began on a small scale in the 1930s, but Green Hills was not highly populated until after World War II.

In part due to the presence of subsurface septic sewage disposal systems; sewers were not added until well after the original development.

In more recent years, there has been considerable infill as many larger lots and remaining open spaces have been redivided to become the sites of higher-density development.

The area is roughly bounded to the north by I-440, to the south by Harding Place, to the west by Estes Road, and to the east by Lealand Lane.

This area is approximately coextensive with the northern half of United States Postal Service's ZIP code 37215, designated "Green Hills Station".
