Gregory E. Maggs

Gregory Eaton Maggs (born June 27, 1964) is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as a federal judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

Upon graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to Judge Joseph Tyree Sneed III of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Associate Justices Clarence Thomas and Anthony Kennedy of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Maggs served in the United States Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General's Corps, for more than 28 years.

He received his commission in 1990, was mobilized from 2007 to 2008, and retired with the rank of colonel in 2018 upon his appointment to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

[6][7] On September 28, 2017, President Trump announced his intent to nominate Maggs to serve as a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
