Despite condemning the aggression and suspending new projects and investments in Russia as of March 2022, the company has maintained its existing operations in the country, where it runs nine facilities that contribute approximately 3% of its global profits.

Greif's prior expansion in Russia, including a 2019 investment in a production plant in Kaluga, has also drawn scrutiny.
