Grimes Township is one of sixteen townships in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, United States.

As of the 2000 census, its population was 851.

Grimes Township covers an area of 36.08 square miles (93.4 km2) and contains two incorporated settlements: all of Meservey and most of Thornton (which is partly in Pleasant Valley Township to the east).

According to the USGS, it contains one cemetery, Pleasant View.
