Gundolf S. Freyermuth (born 1955) is a German-American professor for media studies and author.
[1] Freyermuth is a founding director and Professor of Media and Game Studies at the Cologne Game Lab, as well as Professor of Comparative Media Studies at the Internationale Filmschule Köln.
[2] He has written and edited some 20 books of non-fiction and fiction, including three novels, and published more than 500 essays, features, and articles.
[1] Freyermuth's research concentrates on the development of new artistic and communicative practices, new forms of linear and non-linear audiovisuality, network culture, and cross- and transmediality.
Furthermore, he wrote numerous texts as a freelance writer on such topics as literature, film and digital media, while living on the West Coast.
