Gus Bogina

August Bogina Jr. (September 13, 1927 – November 15, 2023) was an American politician who served in the Kansas State Senate and Kansas House of Representatives as a Republican.

August Bogina Jr. was born in Girard, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in engineering; he worked as a consulting engineer during his career.

He served as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee from 1985 to 1995, when he left the Senate.

Bogina married Velma Rank in 1949; the couple had four children before later divorcing.
