HNLMS Koningin Emma der Nederlanden

Koningin Emma der Nederlanden) was an Atjeh-class unprotected cruiser of the Royal Dutch Navy.

[1] The ship was renamed to Koningin Emma der Nederlanden while still under construction on 7 January 1879 and launched on 20 February 1879.

[2] The ship was commissioned on 1 December 1880 and left for the Dutch East Indies on 13 January 1881.

The affair made some noise, because the Navy Department contracted with shipyard De Lastdrager in Nieuwediep on 20 December 1907, without a public tender.

[8] After the loss of the Battle of the Netherlands by the Dutch forces, Koningin Emma der Nederlanden fell into German hands.
