Hamavaran

[2] In some old writings, the name was mentioned as Sambarān, Shambarān, Shammarān, Samarān, and Shamarān.

[3] In Middle Persian texts, Yemen is mentioned as Yamar, Yambar and Yamyar and that could be a possible form of Hāmāvarān.

In Shahnameh, Kay Kavus fell in love with the daughter of Hamavaran's king, Sudabe.

In Shahnameh, Hamavaran is located far away from Iran, and Kay Kavus goes to Hāmāvarān through sea.

Hāmāvarān is bordered to the left by Egypt, and to the right by Barbarestan (possibly Sudan[4]).
