Hamish Dewar (September 19, 1937, in Dumfries - April 9, 2024, in Edinburgh) was a lecturer and a researcher at the University of Edinburgh.
[1][2] He is credited with creating the first known Quine program written in Atlas Autocode at Edinburgh in the 1960s.
He is also credited with creating the Edinburgh Compatible Context Editor and the Edinburgh IMP around the same time.
