About 250 traditional sailing ships of all types and sizes from a vast variety of countries visit the coast of the city of Rostock every year during the second weekend of August.

Due to limited parking lot capacity, a shuttle service with buses is offered to bring people to Warnemünde.
Further sources of revenue are letting of boat parking spaces and trading places on markets as well as commercial advertising.
