[2] He served as chairman of the State Planning Commission from 1982 to 1985,[3] member of People's Assembly[4] from 1982 to 1987[5] and vice director of the Scientific Institute of Central Party Committee from 1985 to 1991.

After finishing his studies in 1956, Papajorgji was appointed full time Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana where we worked until 1964.

Because of health reasons, he resigned from the chairman position and was appointed as Vice Director of the Scientific Institute of Central Party Committee.

Harilla Papajorgji has published more than 10,000 pages in the form of monographs, university textbooks, chapters in scientific studies, research articles and proceedings books.
