Hartsville, Indiana

Hartsville is a town in Haw Creek and Clifty townships, Bartholomew County, Indiana, United States.

[6] According to the 2010 census, Hartsville has a total area of 0.34 square miles (0.88 km2), all land.

There were 148 housing units at an average density of 435.3 per square mile (168.1/km2).

The racial makeup of the town was 97.0% White, 1.1% African American, and 1.9% from two or more races.

20.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

19.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

[10] On January 30, 1898, it was burned down to the ground; the fire was believed to be the result of arson.

Milton Wright had met his future wife Susan when they were both students there in 1853.
