Heathcliff Slocumb

Heath "Heathcliff" Slocumb (born June 7, 1966) is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) relief pitcher.

[3] Despite a strong arm, Slocumb had poor pitching mechanics and was not selected in the 1984 MLB draft.

[3] In a 10-year career, Slocumb played with the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres.

An All-Star selection in 1995, Slocumb compiled a career 28–37 record with 513 strikeouts and a 4.08 ERA in 631 innings.

Slocumb married and had two daughters with his high school sweetheart, Deborah, before she died of breast cancer in 1992.
