Henry Browne (1804–1875) was an English classical and biblical scholar.
Henry John Browne, rector of Crownthorpe, Norfolk.
He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, where he was Bell Scholar in 1823.
On 9 December 1842 he was collated to the prebendal stall of Waltham in Chichester Cathedral, and in 1843 he was appointed examining chaplain to the bishop of Chichester.
Besides editions and translations of the classics, Browne applied himself chiefly to the elucidation of sacred chronology.
