Hermann Wedekind

Hermann Wedekind (18 November 1910, in Coesfeld, Westphalia – 16 January 1998, in Wadern)[1] was an artistic director at Festspiele Balver Höhle from 1983 to 1996.

After his first engagements in Hagen and Bielefeld, Wedekind was brought to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin by the artistic director Heinz Hilpert in 1935 (1935–1943) and began a career in the field of youthful hero tenors at the Danzig Opera and then at the Dresden State Opera.

[2] In 1960, he took over the management of the city theater and later Saarland State Theatre in Saarbrücken.

[3][4] He was artistic director at Festspiele Balver Höhle from 1983 to 1996.
