Herschel Irving Lashkowitz (April 2, 1918 – September 7, 1993) was an American politician from North Dakota, affiliated with the Democratic Party.
Lashkowitz’s father, Harry, was long involved in politics.
He later served as Assistant U.S. Attorney and seconded Franklin D. Roosevelt’s nomination at the 1936 Democratic National Convention.
A lawyer and veteran of World War II, Lashkowitz served as mayor of his hometown for twenty years, from 1954 until 1974, when he was defeated for re-election.
Senator (class 3) in 1968, when he was defeated by longtime Republican incumbent Milton Young.
