As coach Hideaki Matsuyama (松山 秀明, Matsuyama Hideaki, born April 18, 1967) is a Japanese former professional baseball infielder, and current the second squad manager for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
Matsuyama was a classmate and captain of the famous KK duo Kazuhiro Kiyohara and Masumi Kuwata at PL Gakuen High School.
[6] He was a member of the Orix Blue Wave for eight seasons, with a total of 126 games played, a .253 batting average, two home runs, and seven RBI, but was regarded as a defensive specialist.
[6] Matsuyama became the Chiba Lotte Marines' second squad infield defensive base coach in the 2013 season and was the first squad infield defensive base coach from the 2015 to 2017 seasons.
