Higashichikuma District, Nagano

Higashichikuma (東筑摩郡, Higashichikuma-gun) is a district located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

As of October 1, 2011, the district has an estimated population of 23,044 with a density of 85.85 persons per km2.

Northern Higashichikuma has its population increased, while Southern Higashichikuma has theirs decreased.

The district consists of five villages: The district has a sister city relationship with the city of Chuncheon in South Korea.
