Higashikawa (東川町, Higashikawa-chō) is a town located in Kamikawa Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan.
In recent years, the number of cafes, general stores, wineries, vineyards, sake breweries, etc.
Higashikawa is separated from Kamikawa by Kitachindake in the east, Biei and Higashikagura, the Chubetu River in the south, and Asahikawa along Mount Kitoushi in the west and north.
The excellent natural environment, including Mount Asahi, the highest peak in Hokkaido, is a highly regarded as a tourist resource for the town.
The flat areas are dominated by rice paddies, while the foothills in the east are largely generic farmland.
