[1][3] Canada established its High Commission in Karachi, which was then the capital of Pakistan, in May 1949.

[6] The High Commission represents the Canadian government's interests in Pakistan, including political, economic, cultural and defence relations, and also provides consular services to Canadian citizens in Pakistan.

[9] A Liaison Officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is posted at the mission who acts as Canada's law enforcement representative in the region, holding cross-accreditation in eight other countries of Southwest and Central Asia.
